September

Hello there! No cards to post today, but I am hoping to get some on here tomorrow. I have made some, just need to upload. I have been so busy at work lately, as well as with requests for cards...it's funny that just as all you want to do is stay in 'Christmas card' mode, you get an unusual number of orders for birthdays and babies! On top of everything I have to organise some stock for craft fairs starting in October and make up some card making kits for a workshop type event at the library. I wish work wasn't so busy at the moment as well and then of course there's Italy soon...OMG!

I just have to keep telling myself that it will all turn out alright in the end! On a brighter note, the Spellbinders POTW on Create and Craft was fantastic, except of course it barely lasted a few days! I got in early and ordered some, together with Sue Wilson's DVD. I wanted the lot of course, but that was never going to happen...as it is the ones I have are my Christmas present and Tom will be given the packets to wrap up because I need them...now!

The Dies and DVD arrived this morning and I can't wait to use them and also to watch Sue's DVD...oh for more hours in the day! Tomorrow would normally be a card making day but my friend Steph and I are meeting in Bristol to go to the Royal Western Academy to see the Tracey Emin exhibition. I have just seen her 'Love is all you want' exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in London and was very impressed, so I am well excited!

The Tracey Emin exhibition was great - both Steph and I really enjoyed it and I also really enjoyed the Crafts for All show in Bristol on Saturday - super to meet one of my Twitter buddies, Lucy and also great to see one of my favourite craft designers/create and craft demonstrators, Debbi Moore there. It would be so nice for us to have a big craft event down South! Oh and Sue Wilson's DVD - fabulous!!!

The past week has been manic at work, I had a disaster with an SD card and we are going to Italy tomorrow- so just a couple of cards to be going on with for the moment....

The above 8x8 new baby card was first of all embossed with a cute floral Creative Expressions Mask, which was chalked in pale blue. I then added a scalloped Spellbinders Die, threaded with blue gingham. The bear is a digi-stamp from Polkadoodles 'Sundae of Seasons' cd, which I again coloured with fleximarkers. A few buttons were added and the greeting printed on to card, along with a smaller image of the bear. The card was then die cut and embossed using a Spellbinders die and tied to the corner of the card.

The above card was made for someone going on maternity leave (it was known she was expecting a girl). The image is a digi-stamp from 'Pink Petticoat', coloured with a mix of both flexi and promarkers. The card was cut using a scalloped Spellbinders oval and the edges were coloured wit spun sugar distress ink. The butterfly is a Spellbinders Die (flights of fancy) and the flowers were cut using the Cricut. A fun card to make!

That's all for now...more here and more on my Christmas page after the holiday...we're just about to leave for Italy!
